Judy, go into the mbgoldberg sight and click on printmaster on the left. Then at the top click on tips. when you get to the end of the page then clock on the next page maybe a hand or arrow. At the end of the third or fourth page is the card hint that you want. I read it today.
Hi guys, I created a card for my daughter's graduation, and we are real pleased with it, except it is too big. I made it by going into With Help from the Hub, then greeting card, invitation, graduation, One of them has the word congratulations in huge block letters running up the side, they are lying on their side. I want this card to be a normal invitation size and I have bought 67 lb Cotton paper so I thought I would try to copy the design to a quarter fold size card. Well I am at my wits end to figure out how to turn the letters so that they run at a ninety degree angle to the orientation of the card. The program wants to fit the letters into the box in a normal orientation even if It means that we can only fit three or four letters in a row. I assume that if they can do it in the with help section, then I can do it if I know how, so if you know how PLEASE let me know at basyefelton@juno.com.
Hi Frank,
Thanks for the tip. I have been there and checked out the triplets (I am not jealous <g> looks like a lot of fun to me. I did not see anything about the cards but I will go back and look again.
I have had PrintMaster Platinum for a week, The easiest way to get started is to start with a ready made card. bring it up and work with it a little and when you get to the place where they ask you if you want to print or save to disk then just click finish instead. this takes it to the point where you can delete and or add things til you like the result. It is easy because if you can't figure out how to do what you want to do then you come in here and ask. I haven't even finished reading the instruction manual. I bet these guys WISH I had but they have been real helpful and i have a dozen projects done. You can then go into the with help folder and try the same thing with them. It won't be very long before you are dreaming up new ideas.
Any body home? My Re-inked black cartridge refuses to work any more. Have cleaned it dozens of times and also tried to add more ink. will give it one more shot tomorrow. Larry> am doing some practicing M/V - try to refrain from 'suggestions' (even if they ARE better <g>) let him go to his 'cave' but he never came back out, suggested he 'rubber band' to another residence the other night ... am I getting the idea?
I was real interested to read the other answers to your problem. I will have to try that myself next time, If I remember. I am new at this game, only a week, but I thought I would add my two cents worth. I made up my card first before I thought Of adding color behind it. In that case you might want to try my solution. after putting in your words click on the rectangle at the left. go to your project ant starting at the corner of the space that you want to add color to, left click and hold down the left button while you drag the mouse catticorner to the opposite corner. when done then go to Format at the top and click then color then more and desigh the color that you want. Don't wory if it's not exactly right you can fine tune it when you get a chance to see it. click ok and youre card will pop up withe the appropriate color. Don't click int the field until you are sure that it is the right color, you can click in the margin area to move the card around) and you will be able to go right into the file, color, more and adjust. If you have clicked the field then just left click in the box and only the box that wou want to change. Then click on the buttons to the right to move your words to the fore. Of course this method will make extra steps in the color changing dept for a white on black look.
Thankyou very much Larry, Bill and I have been married 33 years tomorrow. Who ever said it wouldn't last!!! Well it is now time for bed me thinks. Goodnight. Pat
Not to worry friend, you are the Mentor here and I just a student. I still believe that PM needs to put you on salary for being so good!!!….Larry
Hi Larry, sorry I didn't want to upstage you. I just took too long to compose my answer. But I said practically the same as you did, only it took more time to write it down. Maurice.
Happy anniversary Pat and glad to hear you got your card done. This is one of THE most friendly sites on the net and we are fortunate to have some GREAT and TALENTED folks here that are to be found as you have noticed. Keep us posted as to other projects and keep coming back, it works…..Larry…(How many years married?)….Maurice, evening friend and how are you?
Hi Susan, you should first open a NEW project, then click on the picture icon and then select one of the YOUR OWN pictures, the ones you downloaded from the Web. Clicking once on it gets you a preview. Double clicking on it will bring it in your project. To repeat: you cannot simply clicking on ANY picture in the hope it will import itself into PM. You always have to have a project open, such as a card, poster, banner, what have you. Then click on the picture icon, and click or double click on the picture you want in that project. OK? Maurice.
Evening Susan, the only thing I can think of is that you may not have your PROJECT open when you go to add picture. Other than that you seem to have the sequence down to me. Same with importing graphics and photographs from disk. Keep at it and we will get this ironed out…..Larry…I don't know what I am doing either but its fun to learn eh?(LOL)
Hi Gidget, long time no hear friend. IMO light printing means that your print head is partially clogged or the OEM ink and new ink are foaming slightly (this will go away upon subsequent reinkings). I to have heard the foam (in your color cartridge ONLY, #HP 51649) has become more dense to perhaps cause more trouble in refilling but who really knows. Just take your time, add more ink (yellow) s-l-o-w-l-y and it should work. You are very correct in that the newer cartridges don't have a charge hole, but we are much to creative to allow that to stop US! (vbg) If yours does not, point the arrow toward you and on the top surface of the cartridge in the left rear corner, drill a 1/16 inch hole. (Now we will teach THEM a lesson), and go ahead and fill as you did the older type cartridge by adding about 40 ml of ink and finally seal the top corner hole air tight. I like using a hot glue gun. Make sure you SQUEEZE the cartridge some just before sealing to obtain the vacuum which will retain the ink until needed by the printhead. (No foam in this HP 51629A cartridge, remember). Good luck and keep up posted…..Larry
I can't figure out how to successfully import a graphic I downloaded from the PMG web site. I down loaded to my desktop and then I go into my project and add a picture then select import - then find it in the desktop directory and import it - now it is shown in my PMG catalog of graphics but when I select it, it won't go to my project. What am I doing wrong? I have a whole other problem when I try to import a photograph from a disk. I am kind of new at this and don't really know what I am doing. Help!
I have a HP 694 C series printer, I have refilled with some success, problem is the black ink comes out realy light. Does anybody know if this might be due to a poor quality ink? Then on my color the yellow quits all together after a couple of printings, any ideas on that as to why? One last thing, have you heard that HP is changing their cartridge so we won't be able to refill them. I bought a new one and it definately looks different on the top and bottom, there is no vent hole on the top. Just wondering if guru's have any help on that. Thanks and sorry this is so long tonight. Gidget
Bye George, I think I got it!!! Thanks to all, you are all such very helpfull people. Pat
For those of you who didn't see this URL when it was first posted (I forget who did the posting) there is a great site for all sorts of Windows tips and helps at http://www.lrbcg.com/tripper/web_woman--I have found several shareware and free software downloads that are very useful plus some basic Windows tips to make accessing programs and finding information a whole lot easier. Her utility for deleting temp files that are just taking up space is working very well for me(also has a neat icon). Nancy is her name and she is very willing to correspond with those who need help. Checking out for the evening...NiteAll.....eleanor
Help needed! Does anyone know how I can change the note card size...I have made a slight change by using the printer options (B size) ... I have Print Master Platinum. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

You can do the same from NotePad. Do a FILE OPEN and enter in C:\pmw\pmw.ini (Make sure it is set on "All Files" in the bottom drop down window bar.) Enter the same line, MarginStyle=0 then SAVE.
Hi. everyone, sorry to bother you again. I have been trying most of the day to get these margins to work because tomorrow is my anniversary, and I am trying to make a special card {at this point any card for my husband} please if you can help I'd really be greatful. Pat
Hi Judi! The difference between PM Gold and PM Platinum is that the Platinum version has a lot more graphics on 4 more CD´s: 92,000 clip-arts, 20,000 photos and 4,000 templates. The graphics are also shown in thumbnail format in a big book, which is delivered with PMP. Go for the Platinum, Judi! I don´t think that you will regret it. Peter :>)
Hello there, Jill! Thks for yr concern abt. the drilling. I already got a tip from Michael to use push pins. See postings below. Will try next time. Midsummer, yeah, ready already! Have always loved the long light midsummer nights when the sun almost never sets (one has to go up to northern Sweden to say never) and nature in full bloom with lovely scents. Until then, I must finish a mother day card with my children. Mother´s day over here is on Whit-Sunday, so I´ll better hurry. Peter :>)
Hello Michael! Good idea, thanks. I´ll try it next time if I can find pins that make holes big enough for the syringes to get through. Peter :>)
Hi Helga! Thks for asking, I´m fine. Saw that yr health is better too. Maybe it was yr vacation trip to Lake Tahoe that did it? I´ve been there too, you know. Really nice place with lovely views. And the same unbelievable gambling halls as Las Vegas. Halloween box: Stupid me! Of course you found the grahics in PM. I guess I´ve just not come around to the witch department in the Art Gallery before. Saw that one of the "witch graphics" is an optional one, which I guess that you´ve bought. Are these included already on the CD´s and opened up upon purchase or did you get an extra CD? Are you satisfied with the extra graphics and do you think it´s worth the investment? I´ve played with the thought of buying it myself. Peter :>)
Hi M. Bennett! I have PM Gold4.0. Towards the back of my user's guide in Appendix B (B-3), it tells how to use Math PS. I've used it alot for the hearts. Really neat, not sure if thats what you had in mind though. Hope it helps! Connie

Sharon and Eleanor, thank you both so much for your helpful tips. Maybe now I can get some glitter on the paper instead of wet patches. Melissa, I hope the tips have helped you too......Maurice, I'm impressed. You can actually put dialects in writing, something that I have never been able to do. I can speak dialects, but reading and writing is another story. Health is ok for now. BTW, thanks for your posting a while ago about www.Arttoday. I signed up for their service and just love all the graphics. And so many kitty graphics, I almost started to purr myself .....Daisy, keep baking those cookies. The fellows in here seem to need some; I can hear them drooling. Until later.....(current time--2:31 PM PDT) Helga=^..^=....
I am looking for some pcx, jepg, pix, or other format files to use with PM & others of plain Greek Letters to make Sorrity & Fraternity items. Can anyone help! Thanks
Is there any way to search the message board archives? Can't find any buttons hanging around to punch for it! Thanks...Connie
Hi everyone. Went to Michaels site to see if I could find Daisy's way of changing margins but I couldn't. I tried Michaels way through DOS, but when I type in it says it's a bad command.
Help!!! Thanks Pat
Ooopps, Sorry Glenn.
Hello Helga! Nice to hear from you again. I haven't baked in awhile, but will have to get back to it as my resident cookie monster (aka Husband) ate all of the last batch.
IS THERE A WAY TO WRAP TEXT IN THE SHAPE OF A CIRCLE, FOR EXAMPLE? I HAVE PRINTMASTER PLATINUM, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND A WAY TO DO THIS? HELP!!
Glenn, before the chat room went down I wanted to ask you if your printer went hay-wire from printing the picture I sent you...if it did I am sorry..leave it to me!!!<BG> I can't remember if I already told you but I finally got the red out and printed the picture on gold parchment paper to give it and old look and my husband was very impressed. He said it looked very proffessional. Maybe he won't make fun of me being on here any more. Helga, so nice to see you back. Thanks for asking the question about the glitter...I have been meaning to ask the same question but kept forgeting after reading all the great postings here...Melissa
See, I told you that someone with more experience would answer and there was Sharon's great input when my post came up. I will copy that one and use it for the next time. Thanx to you both!! elk
Hi Helga, I used glitter glue on some of my Christmas cards to add sparkle to dove's wings and I spread a small amount over the rest of the card with my fingers. It was the first I tried it and it worked quite nicely, just be sure to let it dry. I put too thick a coat on at first and it peeled off even after it was dry. Mine came in a multi-pkg. of about 6 or 7 colors in tubes with nozzle ends that you just squeezed the glue out after shaking. Don't remember the name but there are quite a few on the market. Did make a very pretty effect. You will probably hear from others who have more experience but I would recommend these for ease of use. ....Eleanor
Good Morning Helga, I use all kinds of glitter on my cards. You can get a 4.5 oz. bottle of clear sparkles at Wal-Mart for about $2, it lets you color show through with a frosted look. I use Alene's tacky glue for large areas and a glue pen for writing or small points.
You can buy glitter that is irridesent or hollographic that is very pretty without extra color. These are very nice on dry embosing to make it stand out even more....Hope this helps a little....Sharon
Juten Morjen Helja, wie jeht's Dir. Janz jut? (sorry, I spent 4 years in Berlin. Ha!) (Note to all: Private joke, people in Berlin do not pronounce a G correctely, it sounds more a Y.) How is your health? Have a nice day. Maurice.
Daisy, are you still baking up a storm of cookies?...Frank, how is your printer doing? "Hi" to everybody....Helga=^..^= It's 9:21AM(PDT)
For some time now, I have been thinking about adding some glitter glue or brush-on sparkles to projects. I have seen several types and brands at Michael's. Can anyone recommend what might work best for dabbing on top of printed graphics? Also, I was thinking about a neutral color that can be applied over all colors so that I don't have to buy every single color on the shelf. Thanks for any suggestions.....Helga=^..^=
Colin, one way to do it is to first add a shape change shape attributes to black, then add title box, change effects to white, type in what you want and place it over the top of your shape box.
Hope this helps you out, if not contact me at above E-mail.
Hi, Judy. Go to http://members.xoom.com/mbgoldberg, Michael's home page, and click on PrintMaster Tips. Check out the triplets while you are there. Daisy, or HRH Lynn, came up with a solution for this, and I think it is posted there. If not I'm sure one of those fine ladies will post it again for you. Off to work, Later, Frank
Hi, Colin. If you haven't already, see Maurice's post to Allison, on 5/27 @ 3:15, about half way down the chat room. This should solve your text problem. Welcome to the chat room. Later, Frank
Hi Everybody:
Is it possible to make a half-fold card the size of the 1/4 fold cards? If so how. Thanks. I really enjoy this place.
i live in australia and i cant put white numbers on a black background, can somebody help me
Larry, Draw 6 was the second graphic program I bought, printmaster3.0 was the first. Can't rememer when but sometime before Christmas. About a month after registering it, Micrografx sent me a new application c-d(red), mine was one that would time out I guess. I was really a newbie at that time, so wasn't sure what it all meant. I also downloaded the latest patch from Micrografx a couple weeks ago. I have got some tips from the microsoft publisher newsgroup about draw6 and publisher. (mostly aboout web pages). There is a David A on there who uses Draw 6 alot. He can be a little abrupt, but will help newbies and he seems to know a lot about these two programs. I can't access this newsgroup on my new provider, hoping they get it soon. A lot of the info can apply to PM. debb
Stuart FDC on it's way to you....Sharon
Evening Jill, how are you this evening? I would like to thank you for you electronic card and your kindness. Hope things are well with you and know you are looking forward to the end of school. I did mention already that the sponge itself acts as a "filter" of sorts and there is no way IMO that shavings could reach the print-head unit. I too would add Grand Canyon to a list of places to see but my recollection was it was HOT in August. Could be too I have brain fade.(VBG)…..Larry
Hello Peter. I don't have to drill holes into my Epson cartridges and so I never investigated what protection there may be to prevent the plastic shavings from hurting something inside. It's a good question and perhaps Larry or some other knowledgable person will tell us. Your advice about going to the Grand Canyon now makes three or four people who have given it their vote of approval for a summer vacation. This testimonial from everyone will make me think hard and fast about it. Thanks very much. Are you getting ready for midsomer frolic? Cheers. Jill
Found Deer Hunter and Rocky Mtn. Trophy Hunter info at http://www.888sunstorm.com/
Nothing on Turkey Hunt or Shooting Clays, but maybe they are too new.
*****GOOD NIGHT ALL!*****
Hello Upgraders, if you have a new, larger hard drive I would like to suggest you look into a program called Drive Copy made by PowerQuest (the folks who made PartitionMagic). This is a very easy to use utility for copying the contents of one hard drive, usually your older/ slower/ smaller one, to your new/ larger/ faster one. :) You will not lose a single preference, setting or byte of data. All versions of Windows, DOS, and OS/2 and all FAT's are supported. The program runs from a single floppy disk and it is not installed on either drive.…… Larry
OK. Checked out the site you gave me Larry. Too late to d/l tonight, but may give it a try tomorrow. Guess I thought you were talking about graphics programs, not games! Guess it's time to call it a night. Blasted "Peer", whoever he or it is, shut me down three time in the past half hour. Daisy, if you find something, and post it, I'll catch it tomorrow. DANG! He just did it again! G'nite all, Frank. Furry one has already "crashed" (g)
What he wrote are the names of the programs, Shooting Clays, Turkey Hunter, Deer Hunter. I don't know who make them, but I'll go look real quick here and see if I can find a web site.
Frank, sorry I bought the 3 CD's but you can demo deer hunter at http://www.gamespot.com/sports/deerhunt/gamedemos.html……great job at the range!…..Daisy, haven't seen that one yet but know it would look cute(LOL)…….Larry
C'mon you two. What's the name of the programs? I'm drooling here!
I saw all of those while shopping last weekend. Do you have any yourself? MR. Daisy is really the shootist in the family. Do they have a program for me called Pop Can Plunker? LOL
Hi, Daisy. Nope this is the first time it's happened. See my last post to Larry, if you haven't already. Larry, stop teasing! Where's the link? What's the URL? Had a good night on the trap range today. 50/50! First time in four years!
There is an answer to your question in the PrintMaster FAQ's at http://www.mindscape.com/service/faqs/pm4win.htm
Hi, Larry. Thanx, but don't think that's the problem. I printed 50 copies of page one and three, using "Odd/Even", but instead of printing 50 of 1, then 50 of 2, it printed 1-2, etc. until fifty copies were printed. Rather than sort everything it the proper order, I tried to just print page 3 to the back of 1. Adjusted # of copies to 50, clicked current page, it printed only one page. I started printing 50 pages at a time, because I knew my black cartridge was low on ink. After changing the cart. on the 75th page, I rebooted, didn't help, and that is when I switched to generated by WP. I have printed double sided, many times before, and never had to switch to WP. Our lease is 10 double sided legal pages, and has always printed fine before. Maybe it's time to talk the company into buying me a new 872se! (VBG). Later, Frank
Hi Frank. I have an HP660Cse, but you lost me. I've never had to select "generated by" anything. Do you do that everytime or did you just have to for this one document?
Frank and Daisy et al, who love the outdoors and shooting/hunting I can recommend 3 new software products (ok, ok, not much related but GRAPHICs, yes, it's the graphics<g>), Sporting Clays, Deer and Turkey hunter….Larry
My friend bought Printmaster plat and it installed fine but every time he went to use the graphics he get an error mesg that says runtime error c++
Virtaul call Does anybody know what that means?
Yep, 10 minutes off
Hello friend, sounds to me like WP software over-rode the printer command and as long as you got your project printed I would not worry much about it. Don't use WP but you might try rebooting and try again. Seems to me that generally files generated and saved in proprietary format by WP or Word invoke their own proprietary commands for printing. Keep us posted as to your resolution…..Larry
Hi, Jackie. Must be the chat room clock. I posted last approx 9:35 CDT. It's now 9:40 CDT, which would, of course, be 7:40 PDT. Posting this now.
Ok, friend. Here is what little I know of it. Are you going to do some programming in the near future?. I dabbled with C+ just to do a little hacking in years past but lost interest.......Larry
Thanx, Maurice for the e-mails re: the chat room. Now I got a problem, HP printer users. My HP660C has been perking right along for years, usually doing what I ask it to. Tried to print 113 copies of "current page" of a 226 page double sided document, no go. This while the "Generated by Printer" enabled. Switched to generated by WordPerfect, it was created in WP, and no problem. Never had to switch to WP before. On-line help doesn't address this, nor does my manual. Printer is out of warranty, so tech support costs 25 bucks an hour or more. Before I go to HP's FAQ page, does any HP users have any ideas? Larry, seems to me you are a HP man. Thanx, to Jay, and the rest of the tech team for getting the chat room up and running again. Later, Frank -n- the furry one
Larry Fire away I would appreciate it. Thanks, Glenn
Is the chat line clock out of sync again or is it my computer battery and my clock? It was 7:26 on my computer when I posted....Jackie
For comparison shopping - CompUSA's regular price this past weekend was $39.99. I don't think it had a rebate, but not positive on that. I looked at a LOT of software that day.
Hi Debb,
Using Maurice's method of notepad for remembering is a great idea BUT who is going to remind us to use it? CU later..Jackie
Evening Daisy, it is good to be here and am presently doing very well. Yep, got the itch but I am one of those folks who refuses to pay full price for much so will wait for the next sale (perhaps Sunday)…..Glenn, I know that was a concise answer and will email you a more in-depth explanation if you wish of my very limited knowledge of VM…..Debb, thanks I will be sure to let you know and did you update your Draw to 6.1?…… Larry
Hi, all. Glad to see the room working again. Just got back on and nice to see all these friendly faces. My e-mail slow tonight also so maybe everybody was enjoying the wonderful weather. I wanted to say another big THANKS to all who sent suggestions the other night, when my sister was having problems. She's up and fixed. I didn't copy the page that day, just at her house and then deleted, so I can't remember who exactly it was. But thanks anyway. You are all terrific. Larry, your welcome, if you get it, let us know what you think. I guess I need to copy Maurices notepad methods for remembering, only problem is I get interrupted before I post and lose the list. debb
Hi Ray ,
Thank you for the site address. I had to play with it a while before I got there.
http://jumbo.url would not get me there but...http://jumbo.com/ did get me there it is a great site especially since it has just added a MAC section. It was good to see you posting again.....Hugs/Smiles...Jackie
I'm right as rain for the moment. And yourself? Are you getting the itch for Draw6? I sure am. *Glenn - I guess that test was your "Qky" too. LOL
Hey Glenn, as you know Java is a general purpose programming language with a number of features that make it suited for use on the WW Web. Small Java applications are called Java applets and can be downloaded from a Web server and run on your computer by a browser, such as Netscape IE. Compiled Java code can run on most computers because Java interpreters and runtime environments, known as Java Virtual Machines (VMs)….Evening Daisy, how are you?Larry
This test is for you, Glenn.
Larry tell me about VM for Java. I will be eternally greatful and thank you kindly.
Hey RAY, glad to see you posting rather than lurking. I had to do jumbo.com to get in….Larry
1 Hour no post does it work?
Another Shareware URL!!...Jumbo! The Shareware Download Network.url....http://jumbo.url....Worth a look.
Hello all, With IE 4 to put a shortcut on the desktop go to any start menu Program and right click on it. On the pop up select CREATE SHORTCUT next menu put on desktop or cancel. This also works for any web page. Thanks Maurice for the E Mail.
Welcome Linda M. to the PM Chat room where no question is a dumb question, the people are friendly and the camaraderie can't be beat. What I do is find a ready-made card that I like and modify it, while others here can take a blank piece of paper and turn it into a work of art which can bring tears of joy to some and invoke sounds of laughter to others………Larry
hello all, im a new user to this program and so far love it all. any starting suggestions??
any suggestions or help for beginners is greatly appreciated. thanks
Linda
Hello Peggy, I must say I read your post with interest. As gently as I may, I would say that you were NOT given all the facts. For those of us who purchased a while back (read: Nov for me) my platinum DID need the patch and for many other Gold and Platinum owners here it has corrected some problems. I would agree that the perhaps the later editions do not, in fact need the patch as the versions are apparently newer than even the 4.01 patch and would therefore be included…. Beth, the shareware program ThumbsPlus will do a proof sheet of sorts found at http://www.thumbsplus.com….. debb, thanks for the Draw 6 info…..Sandra, thank you for sharing my reinking experience and congrats to both you and your husband….. Chuck, please let us know to what extent you upgrade and what…. Linda, glad reinking is going well for you and have YOU been reading & PRACTING your parts of M/V?(G)….Peter, the sponge acts as a filter to prevent the drilled chips from entering the print-heads……Maurice, thanks for the info on the chat room and jokes….Jay, thanks to you for repairing the Chat for us……..Larry
Nice, Daisy, I didn't know how to do it that way. Also dragging a program into Start is a good tip. Much faster. Thank you!
For those using PM for your business, I found a company that will custom embroider your logo onto a polo-type shirt. Visit www.queensboro.com for their introductory offer. Six shirts for $125. They are waiving the logo set-up fee, and you can choose assorted colors/sizes as well. This is not a bad deal, as most companies I've seen require a much larger minimum order. Six shirts is a nice wardrobe, but 20 or more is too much for me! I was able to re-create my logo in PM quite nicely, so maybe I'll treat myself!
To make a shortcut on your desktop from your program list RIGHT click the start button and select OPEN, DOUBLE LEFT click on the programs folder. Double click to open the folder the program is in. RIGHT DRAG to the desktop the icon for starting the desired program. Release right button. Select Create Shortcut Here from the short pop-up menu. If your shortcut says, "shortcut to..." right click on the shortcut, select Rename and delete the words "shortcut to". You can also right drag a program icon right onto the start button to create a shortcut to program at the top of the START list.
Hi Sundae, Please check your e-mail for an attachment with 3 picnic table pictures in a self-extracting file. Maurice.
Thanks for the reply Lindy, From the city of churches, absolutly BEAUTIFUL place, visited there many a time.
I will have to try and sell my V3.0 now and go out and buy V4 Plat. although I don't know what I'll do with that many graphics !!!
Hi All! Have been "lurking" lately! Last few days of school (7 to go) have been a bear - Middle schoolers think they can't get suspended last few days - therefore gotta try EVERYTHING! (How're you holding up Jill?) anyhow ..Sharon, does your modem driver need updating? Just a thought! Try to see if there is a web page for your modem - may be a driver update!! Take Care all!
Hi Alison, click on the big T and drag a text box. You will see a flashing vertical cursor in the top left hand corner. Click on the RIM of the text box, such that the flashing cursor disappear and the box is completely blank. That is called "accessing the text box." (not the text) Now click on on the paint can and select black (or any color) The text box becomes that color. Now click in the middle of the text box. The flashing cursor appears again. Click on FORMAT - FONT. Select font style, size and WHITE color. Click on OK and start typing, white font on a darker background. Maurice.
Hi Rob, I hope that the disappearance of the PM Club availability yesterday doesn't deter you! I am just to the left of you in Adelaide..and wanted to assure you that it really IS worth getting the Printmaster 4.0 Platinum..92,000 graphics, which became available here in Australia just a few weeks ago. I did..and I am extremely happy.. not that it isn't easy to import graphics to PM ,but the choices in Platinum are superlative!
Anyway, welcome to PM World!

HELP!! I just installed PrintMaster Platinum and I have a 4 page gray/black/white project due by 8 a.m. I cannot seem to figure out how to color the area in behind the white font to make it outstanding. I.E. Black background, white font. It's probably something very simple, but when you're pressured, you can't seem to find it. Can anyone give me a very clear hint?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, All. Some friends of mine are raffling off a picnic table and I will be using PrintMaster to make up the raffle tickets but I need a really good picture of one. I have PM gold deluxe and there's nothing really good in there. Any suggestions? Please email me at above.
Thanks!
Hi Mauricio!!! Another way is to right click on any empty space on your desktop. Choose New - Shortcut - Browse to the exe file or application that you want on your desktop. If you don't want a shortcut anymore just drag it to the recycle bin!! Another tip for Netscape users, maybe it will work for IE too. Go to Message Center and "minimize all windows" by right clicking on an empty space in your lower toolbar. Click on "Message Center " and make it smaller by clicking on the button in the middle of the "-" and "x" at the top right hand corner. Open whatever you want to make a shortcut to. Inbox, Outbox, your favorite newsgroup, etc. Drag the icon to the left of the box where your choice is unto an empty space on the desktop. Go back to an empty space in your lower toolbar and choose "Undo Minimize All". Enjoy!! This way you can choose whatever you want on your desktop. Take care.
Hi all, it is not always necessary to access a program, say PM, through START - PROGRAMS. You can create a shortcut icon on the desktop instead. You click on that icon and, sito presto, there is PM! --- Click on MY COMPUTER - click on C:\ drive -- Click on the yellow PMW Folder -- RIGHT-click on the PMW file. (for some reason Win95 always writes EXE files without the extension)-- In the menu click on CREATE SHORTCUT. -- It will deposit a shortcut icon in the PMW folder -- Drag the shortcut icon to the desktop (i.e. click and hold the mouse and move it) -- Click on all the Xs to close all the open folders -- Double click on the new icon. PMW should start automatically. -- This way you can even make a shortcut for your favorite DOS games. -- If you make a booboo, drag the booboo to the recycle bin. Have fun. Maurice.
Thanks Maurice for the updates on the chat line status. I've been tempted aa number of times to host a PrintMaster chat room on my site, but didn't want to compete with this one. I received my rebate postcard! My mom is now a PrintMaster junkie - it's contagious. Peter - instead of drilling my holes, I used a push pin to get through the soft plastic. Regards, all! Can you tell me is PM Gold Deluxe 3.0 better than PM Platinum 4.0 and if you know if there is much of a difference and what they are Thanks Judi
Hi Sharon! You didn´t forget to change the dial-up phone No. to yr ISP, did you? Well, just a thought. I did that mistake when I switched from 28.8 to 56K modem and wondered also why I never got any faster connection than I already had. My ISP tthen told me I had to phone to another number. The reason is that another transfer protocol is used fro the transmission, different from the 28.8K standard. Don´t think that you will reach 56K speed though. I have never reached any speed higher than 42K ( normally it changes between 34 and 42K in my area and with my ISP). Peter :>)
