Thanks, Maurice I will try to find that paper. Is that Paper Plus a computer type store? We don't have anything like that around here. I wonder if I tried Best Buys, Comp USA, or Staples if they would carry somthing like that? Thanks for the help I will search. Where is eveyone today? Doreen
As most of the other folks onboard, I got my Printmaster directly from Mindscape W/ NO graphics catalogue. (Seems loyal customers are not treated as well as retail customers ...) Anyway, a friend I had recommended Printmaster to (she got her copy from Mindscape too) bought a retail copy for her niece, it came w/ A GRAPHICS CATALOGUE! She e-mailed them complaining, received no response and E-mailed again ... and got TWO copies of the graphics catalogue - FREE!!!! One for me ... oh boy, oh boy.
I'll probably get blackballed for posting this information, but its worth a shot. Someone else posted awhile ago that they charged $20 to order the catalogue. >Larry - I've been ignoring my computer for awhile. Hadn't realized you'd been ill. Glad you are better. Thanks for the E-mail.
Hi all, to prevent your message from being posted more than once, just click ONCE on POST MESSAGE. Then, when you get the NO DNS ENTRY error, Click on OK once and then click on BACK in your browser. Thank you. Maurice.
Hi Doreen, I use a card stock that is glossy on one side and "normal" on the other. It is called King James Silhouette, Cast Coat Cover, and is made by James River Paper Co. I buy it at a chain store called Paper Plus. It costs $11.35 for a ream of 250 sheets. Maurice.
Hi all, went to bed last night thinking that my message wasn't posted was shocked to see it 5-6 times!!!
Does anyone know if there is a paper for making cards that has a glossy front, for pidtures but plain card stock on the rest of the card? I love to scann pictures into cards and they print so much nicer when using glossy paper but the inside doesn't print as nice. well got to run I promise I will only push the button one time!!! Doreen
It's 4 a.m. here and the first thing I did was turn on my computer. I was in mucho distress yesterday when I couldn't access the chat room. You never know how much you miss something till it's gone! The first thing I saw was your email, Lynn, with Maurice's message. Thank you both so much! I haven't been sending messages for there are lots of things going on, like my grandaughter's wedding today, 300 miles east of here, so I am packing up and leaving in about an hour. I sure am glad that before I left, I didn't have the thought of losing my "family" on the chat room bugging me all the time I am gone. I will check in tomorrow nite and catch up. Oh, and happy birthday late, Daisy. A may day baby, how about that? And Maurice, how do you know all this stuff? Luv and hugs from Bev and Shug (The Terrible)

Doreen, after working fine for more than 24 hours, the banding from the printer is back. Although I refill my cartridges to save money, I'm wasting more than enough ink on the cleaning cycles. I'm ready to throw that printer out of the window and get an HP. Well, since I'm the last one to arrive here and the last one to leave this place, I better turn off all the lights in the chat room....Good night to all......Helga=^..^=
I feel like my eyes are studdering! Daisy Happy B'day. I didn't know. What happen to the chat room today. I thought everyone was just giving me the cold shoulder. Tried to access the chat room early this afternoon and couldn't get on. Got side tracked with my son he had a track meet then a Ice Hockey game tonight. Was thrilled when I got home and found your e-mail how to access the chat room....Thanks a million the day just isn't complete with out my dose of PM chat room!!!!!
Peter, tried sending my attachment as a JPEG but the person couldn't open it. If she downloads Paintshop will she be able to access it. I think that she has Corel Print house I wonder if that will work. Still haven't quite gotten the hang of these attachments... I will keep trying though.
Helga, how is your printer working? are you still having the banding? mine seems to work ok as long as a clean the heads often, which uses a lot of ink.
Now I can't seem to post this!!!!!

If you go to http://www.novadevcorp.com You can download 100 free graphics, web animations, and web graphics (Can't remember how many) it is of course a sampler to advertise there CD Roms, but free is free right.......Glenn, I tried to E mail you and tell you how much fun I am having with the museum site but it was returned as undelieverable (is that a real word). Anyway now you know. I am currently not crowing anymore about sending my first attachment. Now! I get to figure out how to send one someone can open. What Can I say now but "The thrill is gone" and Eleanor and Ute PLEASE! be patient. Hugs/Smiles to All and Happy Birthday Daisy!....later Jackie
Maurice, I learned how to do it. For anyone interested, I have one page open with the "Post Message" box open and then I opened PrintMaster with Maurice's address in another window. This way I posted with one window and still have the other to "refresh" and view the group. When you go to the "Post Message" window, if you want to post again only "Clear Form". :-)
I don't know how all those messages got posted. I thought that they didn't get through because I was getting the DNS entry error. Sorry!!!
Well maybe not so great. Went to post and got cant open. Hit back arrow then refresh and message was posted twice.
Thanks Maurice, You are right it worked like a charm.
Thank you Maurice for being so thoughtful. We're really lucky to have a PM guru here. Jean, I'm so sorry that you haven't been able to correct your problem. Hope you get it soon!! Hi all, it seems that many people had trouble accessing the PrintMaster web page. That is why there are so few people here. I just sent them all an e-mail with a solution. I hope they will all be here in a short while. Maurice.

I finally go my juno to load onto a floppy and work! But then the computer wouldn't answer on the other end or it was busy, oh well, we'll keep trying. I got an e-mail from the partners or rather I should say a partial mail and don't have a clue what was supposed to be there because it started in mid-sentence and ended the same way. Where is everyone today. I've been at the emergency all morning with my hubby he had a heart "episode" and scared me to death... Larry I know how you wife felt now and tell her I hope to never go through such as that again. I'm glad you are o.k. and so is my s.o....Thanks......S
Hi Everyone: I am beyond my wits' end. I posted a message yesterday noon; Gloria, Glenn and Peter have responded via e-mail, but I had already done all of the things they suggested (video problems, re-installing, etc). So I am pasting yesterday's message again in the hope that someone around this evening may have a suggestion. From yesterday: I have used PM beginning with 1.0 with absolutely no trouble. Since I have installed PMP I am having more trouble than I can deal with. I use it several hours every
day. In March I re-installed to PMW40. Yesterday [Wednesday] I started having "can't access 'Your Own'" message. So this morning [Thursday] I re-installed, using PMW50. Still had trouble so did another VERY CAREFUL installation under PMW60. I had no more than installed it than it came up with the
"can't access 'Your Own'" screen again. Even worse than that, it is giving me an "illegal operation --close" screen every 1-1/2 to 2 minutes. I have open an Internet site so I can check alignment of a table I have copied into my word processor. Then I select a few lines in the word
processor, do a copy, then when I try to paste these few lines into the PM newsletter I am creating, it refuses to paste and gives me the "illegal op-close" screen. I have done this very thing on numerous projects before, so I am at a total loss for an explanation. In addition, AOL keeps
coming up with the "Idle: click to stay online" screen, but my cursor becomes a circle/slash so that I can't click "yes" to stay online. So, in addition to having to re-start PM every couple of minutes, I also have to re-start AOL every little while. I am beyond tearing my hair out. Anyone
out there with any suggestions? Thanks ever so much. Jean
This silence is so unlike us. Tell me, did everybody go to CostCo, Best Buy, Michael's, etc. today?
Good Morning to all, Peter thanks for the info on the zip program I will check it out. Michael my problem with juno is that I can download it to my desktop and it works fine but when I try to downsload it to a floppy it says the transfer is complete but when I test it it says there are some system isn't working. So I tried to copy and paste it from my desktop and I still get the same message. My floppy is formated for IBM , they work for other things. Anyone with any help or advise would be greatly appreciated am trying to give this to a friend who isn't on the net.........Thanks...S
Hi Tina, Glad to be of some help. Do read Lynn's message and go to the Hanes site. It's been much improved since I last accessed it and there are answers for many questions about the process. Click on the faq's in each area, they are really helpful. The first page has the link for getting to the free easy-off tranfer papers. Eleanor
Happy May Day,
We have a May basket tradition here in which small paper cones are filled with spring flowers and/or small gifts and placed on someone's front door knob. We ring the bell then hide and giggle until the recipient invites us in. You can pass on this fun tradition by making a pretty and simple May basket with PM. Use a horizontal poster. Start with a very large circle--so large almost 3/4 of it is off the page. Fill it with a pretty pastel color and mask off all but a quarter of the circle with some white non-outlined shapes. Raise this quarter circle high enough on the page that you can just squeeze a rectangle the length of the paper beneath it and fill this rectangle with color to match. Select a pretty spring graphic and center it on the quarter circle. Print on card stock. Cut out the two pieces. If you cut the round edge of the quarter circle with fancy scissors, so much the better. Roll the quarter circle into a cone and use a glue stick to join the edges. Staple on the other piece for a handle to slip over a door knob. (You can wait to staple it after slipping it through a door handle on site if necessary.) Fill it with tiny branches of spiraea or forsythia, or use lily of the valley or grape hyacinth or whatever is in your yard for a lovely, inexpensive gesture of love or friendship. Lynn (in Martha Stewart mode)
Guess what, Lynn. They are offering the free sheets of new paper on the site. Just had to give my address and e-mail. Thank you, Again! Eleanor
Hi Lynn -- Glad you posted the update about the Hanes paper. I hadn't heard about that and it should be a great improvement, make it much easier. I had the Hanes demo but didn't order the full program so hadn't been back to the site since I started. Have the Canon program that came with the printer and once you learn, I find, you can pretty much do the designing yourself. The only Hanes paper I have found locally is packaged with the program and that costs about twice as much as just buying the Canon paper, so I have stayed with that. Will go to the Hanes page and check out that new one. Happy May Day.....Eleanor
Dear Tina,
I use an Epson to print T-shirt transfers and I use the Hanes transfer paper. When Canon first came out with transfer paper I called Epson and they said it would work Epson printers, so they must all be pretty compatible. Look at the Hanes2U site, www.hanes2u.com, especially if you're just starting. They have lots of great advice and there's a wonderful Austin James catalog of items onto which to transfer: director's chairs, laundry bags, teddy bear T-shirts, portfolios, etc. Plus, they will replace a Hanes T-shirt if you mess up transfering onto it--up to six shirts a year! They also now have a new kind of paper which you allow to cool before peeling which they say makes it much easier. I got an email offering a free sample, so I'm eager to try it. I didn't see the freebie offer on their website, but there is info about this new product. Lynn
Doreen, if you save yr PM project as a picture with for instance a .jpg extension and send it as an e-mail extension, then a anybody with an image editing program, like Paintshop Pro, can open it w/o having PM. Good luck, Peter :>)
Hi, TeddyBear! As alternative to WinZip, you might prefer PKZip. At Michael´s website, there is a link to PKZip under "PrintMaster Projects to Download"...thank´s Michael for an excellent website...or you can go directly to www.pkware.com. In fact, in the latest review on Zip-utilities in PC Magazine March 24, 1998, PKZip 2.60 won clearly over WinZip 6.3, first since Winzip´s long leadership. Apparently, PKZip now has better interface, can handle more file types than WinZip and do both unzipping and zipping (WinZip only takes care of unzipping) and handles virus checking in a better way. Peter :>)
Jean, If I remember correctly, on my website there is an answer to Video problems and corrupt files. One of those might help you.
Michael
If you go to www.juno.com, you can download a version that will fit right on a floppy.
Michael
Stuart, yes, please email me your'cheats' for graphic effects and I'll post them on my web. I think that would be great.
Michael
Hello everyone, I need some help. I have been trying to download juno from my computer to a floppy disk and each time it tells me there is a problem. Something or other isn't working. I need some help ASAP. Thanks.......S
Hello everyone! Thanks Eleanor for the info regarding t-shirt transfers. I am going to try this soon. I'll let you know how things come out! Thanks, again,***Tina***
Hi Daisy. If I remember right, I think you mentioned that May 1 is your Birthday. In case I'm not able to check out the chat room tomorrow, I just want to wish you a Happy Birthday a day early. If I'm wrong, well, have a Happy Friday..Good night to all for now.......Helga=^..^=
Hi Tinker, re-reading your message I find that those games cannot be installed nor run under Windows. So, once you have found out which is the install file (INSTALL, SETUP, or something to that extent), stay in DOS and type from there: X:\INSTALL( or SETUP, etc) and press the ENTER key. Those games will then be run from DOS. Maurice.
Hi Tinker, when I say "put your computer in DOS mode and type DIR X:\, I mean that you should replace the X with the drive letter of the CD drive, like D:, E:, or whatever is the correct one." Typing in X:\ of course gives you the message "wrong drive letter specification." Maurice.
Can someone explain why one would pay an ISP and have to put up with ads in the first place. Especially one that has the most members. I wonder about that too.
Couldn't stay around to hear the answer to my queation last night so must thank Glenn and Stuart for clearing up my muddled brain. Debe I sent your instructions to friend in San Diego who has AOL and she was tickled to get rid of the 'stupid ads',she asked me to thank you. Keep up the good job Larry and I'll keep the cheers coming. Also share all the great ideas with friend with PMG but not on line. This is the best!! Myra
Thanx for the help although when I try your way Maurice, my computer say invalid drive specification. What do I do? And your way Daisy- it said the games may not run in windows and they don't, I tried. Now what do I do???
Really confused!!! Tinker
Larry glad to hear you are on the mends..my mother-in-law had the same problem you do and she is doing just great...but follow the docs orders to the T...glad to have you back.P.S. I have been sending e-mail today and have not had any problems, and some e-mail wasn't just to AOL users. Debe
Hello all. Larry, sorry to hear about your heart. I had some problems the last six months with my heart also. Since I am only 21 the doctors had no clue. After about a 100 test they finally found out what's going on and I am being treated with meds. Just hang in there.:-) I recently went from a sample of PM that came with my pc to PMP. I am having a ball!! Seems like I can do anything. Michael love the web sight. Thanks for all the great ideas all. :-) Steph
Hi Friends (I feel like I know each of you from the wonderful chitting and chatting): Those of you who came on this afternoon -- if you could scroll back to my message of 12:18, just past noon today -- I really need some thoughtful responses from those of you who so generously give what you know to those of us who don't. Thanks again. Jean
Put the CD in the drive. Click START, RUN, BROWSE. Browse through the files on the CD Until you find setup, or install. Double click it. Click OK.
Hmmmm, for that I'd almost consider (Dare I say it?) M.S. Publisher... the calendar wizard would make short work of that, I'm sure... as you can get a free 30 day demo of Publisher 98, it might be worth a try... I'll have a go at making one in Printmaster later on today, will let you know if there's a good shortcut...
Regards,
Stuart
Hi Tinker, Put your computer in DOS mode and type DIR X:\ (where X is the CD drive letter) and press the ENTER key. You should now see a listing of all the files on that CD. Look for names such as INSTALL, SETUP or something to that extent. Now type in EXIT and press the ENTER key. That brings you back to Windows. Now install the program as you normally would try and when it refuses type in X:\SETUP or INSTALL or whatever you found in the DIR listing. Maurice.
Well, I can hardly wait to see what you sent! Just signed on and will be curled on my couch watching "the tube" soon. I'll let "PingIt" keep AOL on and come back and check before beddy-bye. Eleanor
Hello friend. If we could just scoop up the kind wishes from everyone you have touched on this chat board, your heart would be back to normal in no time. I'm sure you are the sensible type of Martian and will follow your doctor's orders. Best wishes for a speedy turn around. Jill
Hi Tina, I use the T-shirt transfer papers from the Hanes package and from the Canon pkg. There is also a new Kodak transfer paper package that is less expensive. Heard that was good, too. My printer is a Canon and they work very well for me. The main thing is to have the printer set for graphics and either the Glossy setting or the T-Shirt Transfer setting. Your printer should have the information for the proper settings. I think the ink is the same for all. I've had a lot of fun making them for my granddaughter. Good luck with yours. Eleanor
I posted a help message Tues but was called out of town wednesday. I assume I missed any of your replies. I will definitely be checking in Friday night so please...If you have any insights as to a solution, reply.
I need to design a calendar Mon - fri Only for a seven week period. I currently use print shop for this project. PMG does not provide the flexibility for design. PS is very tedious in it's placement of graphics and requires too much tweaking. Does anyone have any ideas as to a Calendar program that can provide my design needs and still have the creative power of PNG?
This may sound really stupid, but I had a c d tutorial for one of my programs that I couldn't figure out how to install no way!!!!! After giving up in frustration and tossing it in the back of my cd rack I pulled it out and lo and behold the instructions were written on the cd itself. Maybe this will help or just show how computer illiterate I really am.
Michelle
I finally did it, I just sent my first E mail attachment, Eleanor sent me a scan of one of her paintings, now I'm sending her a scan of a few of my small oil paintings, My large ones are to big to scan and I finished the book "how To Photograph Your Own Artwork" yet. I can hardly wait to see if Eleanor got them.
....Hi Helga, I'm glad it was your turn to be embarassed. I think It is important we all share. I hope you are having a good day today. Pet the furry ones for me....Hi Larry, It was so good to see your post today. It doesn't feel right when you don't see all the familar names. Give your wife an extra hug for me. I know your heart episode must have been very difficult for her, as well as for you. Hugs/Smiles to All
Can anybody help me? My martian bought a game on cd that came with no installing instructions. He just bought the cd off of someone. And I can't install it, and he wants to play the games real bad. It's from Suncom Tech. by Apogee. I've tried going into windows to install it, and I've gone into DOS and neither have worked. Larry, maybe you have a number in your little black book??? Thanx, Tinker
I have not been to CostCo in over three weeks, and the store is calling out to me in my dreams. I better go there this weekend. Lee, I can't help you either with the AOL mystery. As far as I know, we are getting all of our e-mail. Later.........Helga>^..^<
When I posted my message last night, I was convinced that the color cartridge caused the horizontal banding problem in my projects. I called Epson's Tech support today, and I'm soooo embarrassed. I was so busy running the color cartridge through the cleaning cycles that I did not even think of the black cartridge. The woman from tech support asked me to run a "nozzle check patter" of all the four colors (B, C, M, & Y) and the outcome surprised me. The print-out from the black cartridge had many horizontal gaps. After running the black cartridge through eight cleaning cycles, the print-out of the "nozzle check pattern" showed no more gaps, and no further banding appeared on my images. Maybe the black Print-Rite cartridge that I'm using is not so good after all; I have to keep an eye on it.........Helga=^..^=
Hello Y'all! I want to design T-shirt iron-ons. I see that we can "flip" images to get the printing to iron right in PM Pub Suite 4.0, but when I went to buy the correct paper kit it only says "to be used with HP printers" and nothing about the ink. I do have a HP550C, but I like my Color StyleWriter2500 better. Since there is no reference to the type of ink, can I use my other printer? Or is there a HP site or somewhere to find info on T-shirt iron-ons. Also, Larry, I wasn't referring to fast food. Although when it comes to Mickey D's I am more a 1/4 pounder kinda gal. I hope you are well. You're in my prayers. Also, Mac people when I looked up that suzybear site I see if you go under "what's your interest" and choose "computers-macs" there is a lot of info and links there. The same for PCs. By the way, Daisy, thanks for posting that suzybear site, it's my favorite! Well, sorry for the tangent, but sometimes I forget where I tied my horse. "I'll be back!"(Arnold Schwarzenegger)***Tina***
Hello! Hope everyone is having a great da! Helga, heck no I didn't leave a thing at Costco! Have to make up for all the time I missed. Thinking about buying stock<vbg>! Larry, glad to hear you are mending - hang in there! Received my Print Artist Platinum yesterday. Going to see if it runs any better. Am considering getting Virtual PC for my Mac and trying to get PMG for Windows! Reloaded PMG 1.0 again other day and it ran fine, but of course, now I'm not satisfied because I've seen all the great graphics in 4.0! Take care all! P.S. Michael, I haven't been able to access your website either, going to try "other way slashes" to see if it works. ...Got a question about AOL - I seem to be able to get e-mail through to some aol addresses, but there are two that everytime I use, come back User Unknown. Yet, I know that other people have been able to access these addresses. Any ideas you AOL users?? Thanks, Lee
One of the best programs I have seen and used for cataloguing fonts is Fontsee... it's shareware, and should be fairly easy to find on the internet... it's very small, and makes a simple, clear list of all available fonts on your screen, which can then be dumped to a printer...
Regards,
Stuart
Hi Everyone: I am beyond my wits' end. I have used PM beginning with 1.0 with absolutely no trouble. Since I have installed PMP I am having more trouble than I can deal with. I use it several hours every day. In March I re-installed to PMW40. Yesterday I started having "can't access 'Your Own'" message. So this morning I re-installed, using PMW50. Still had trouble so did another VERY CAREFUL installation under PMW60. I had no more than installed it than it came up with the "can't access 'Your Own'" screen again. Even worse than that, it is giving me an "illegal operation--close" screen every 1-1/2 to 2 minutes. I have open an Internet site so I can check alignment of a table I have copied into my word processor. Then I select a few lines in the word processor, do a copy, then when I try to paste these few lines into the PM newsletter I am creating, it refuses to paste and gives me the "illegal op-close" screen. I have done this very thing on numerous projects before, so I am at a total loss for an explanation. In addition, AOL keeps coming up with the "Idle: click to stay online" screen, but my cursor becomes a circle/slash so that I can't click "yes" to stay online. So, in addition to having to re-start PM every couple of minutes, I also have to re-start AOL every little while. I am beyond tearing my hair out. Anyone out there with any suggestions? Thanks ever so much. Jean
Dear Jim,
Are you looking for wedding pictures, patriotic images, or what exactly? Lynn P.S. How about fireworks? :)
Dear Jim,
Are you looking for wedding pictures, patriotic images, or what exactly? Lynn
Hi Jim, I can't help you with the graphics you're looking for, but I do congratulate you on your choice of a wedding date. July 4 is our anniversary. This year will be 33 years. Many happy years to you and your bride! Helen
Eleanor, I looked closely at the e-mail page, and sure enough there's a paperclip icon to indicate attachment. If worse comes to worse I can always read the help file, ha ha! Thanks for the encouragement and advice. I'm going to give it a try. Helen
Hi again J Shepard, you are most welcome and yes, I think some folks have had success in obtaining the Image Index book from Mindscape although I don't know the price….Larry
Hello again and thank you ALL for the concern and support. Seems doctors don't know what caused the atrial fibrillation, but I am cleared back to work so today will be busy upgrading my PC now that the Mrs. is up to PII 300mhz…. Jackie, thanks for keeping track of my socks(G)and missing me…Tina, are you referring to Big Macs?(G)…..Michelle, thank you and Glenn's socks are mismatched too…Lee, blue and green socks are not ok?(G)…..Helga, thank you for the VERY cute email card and did you leave anything at Costco?…Maurice, loved the MS joke and the monitor is now small enough to hang around your neck…..Pat, congrats on your RCMP daughter…Eleanor, how are you and yes we are all friends here…..Myra, thanks for the cheering, it must have made a difference(G)…… Daisy, "grammar" is funny(L)….Jan, I too have an HP820 and there has to been something minute dragging in the ink perhaps being overlooked…Debe, glad you hear your HP680 is running correctly….teddybear, Winzip 6.3 is located on cnet.com and "downloads"….Ray, ThumbsPlus (also at cnet.com) is the easiest way I know of to catalog and print a sample of all your fonts…..Larry
Good morning Larry, how are you? Is that monitor still as big as a breadbox? Or did they miniaturize it a bit? How are you feeling? Maurice.
Thanks, Larry, for the quick reply, which you'll understand is why I'll pose this ? to you first, b4 I ask Mindscape. Do you know if I can get the B/W Image etc. from Mindscape?
Hi Teddybear, that URL is http://www.winzip.com/download.htm --- Maurice.
That's a HP 680C....Debe
Maurice thanks for the e-mail, I did look that up last night and printed it out...this morning I put my PM cd in and my projects are back in place..thanks a million. If anyone has a HP 680C can you tell me how to print on 6 1\2 x 3 5\8 envelopes..when I put 20 env. in to print out it says I am out of paper. Size 10 env. sometimes print okay..but that too will tell me I am out of paper. Does it have to do w/settings? I even purchased thinner evelopes thinking the first batch was too heavy....any info would be greatful...Debe
Good morning to all, I downloaded the cd cover templet from Michaels site but I don't have a zip program and need to get one. I know you can download one but I can't remember where. I'll check back latter to see if anyone knows........Thanks...S
Welcome J Shepard, and yes you are correct in thinking PM Gold 4 and Platinum 4 are the same program with more graphics and clipart in Platinum. Same User's Manual as Gold 4 with the addition of a 865 page b/w Image Index Book. (Corel Draw is presently on ver. 8<g>). According to one of the techs at Mindscape (Jay) you can directly copy over version 3 with version 4. If you have any trouble then delete all files EXCEPT the yellow folders and then install, (this will kept your projects from 3.0). You can copy and paste any posting here just as you would in any windows program….Hope this helps, Larry
Thanks for the URL, Ray. Just went there and the 'studies' link is fascinating. I have a great interest in letterforms, having studied and taught calligraphy for a number of years before getting into painting. Have bookmarked that site and will get back to it later to investigate the rest. Eleanor
Hello Ute, Jackie tells me you are from Germany. I would be interested in knowing if you are anywhere near Heidelberg. Feel free to e-mail me. I couldn't find your address. Thanks. Eleanor
I just rcvd PM Platinum, which is tagged Version (V).4 the same as PM Gold. I 'upgraded' to V.4 as I have V. 3 and I 've read many of you extolling your praises of 4. Now, I'm confused unless the only difference between Gold 4 and Plat 4 is additional stuff - graphics and such. You'd think Mindscape would have explained this in their docs, but NO!
So, I turn to you users to explain some operational and other info, so I don't have to endure the catacombs of 'Tech Support' whose 'Auto' line doesn't acknowledge Platinum just V.4.
First, my V.3's manual is an inch thick and full of info and, I think, thumbnails of all the graphics. The manual I got is much thinner and has only one page of thumbnails of each division of graphics. Now, I know I didn't buy Corel Draw Suite 9 or whatever it's up to, but I paid no more for V.3 than I did for 4, so I expected a manual similiar. Maybe the problem is I bought direct, but I'd seen no cautions to that effect. The manual I got with Plat. is titled PM Gold BTW.
More confusion. And there is no mention of using 4 as an upgrade to 3 or any other previous version, so I don't know how to keep already created projects. I've seen mention of this topic here, but didn't know I would run into this. so didn't print the response.
Last, is there a way to construct these messages ' off line' and copy or otherwise import them in?
Thanks, J
I'm getting married on 4th July and I am striving to create an 'Order of Service'. I am finding it difficult to find suitable pictures. Can anyone help?
Marlene, have the same problem with the screen freezing but only when I'm on the custom color chart. I went into settings and changed my color preferences to 24 bit color and that cleared it up but also it automatically changed my screen resolution, which I didn't care for. Was also told to get a new video card and mine is new too, only a super generic one. Try going to the URL www.nowonder.com and get specific on your question and they'll e-mail you an answere within 24 hours. Let us know what you found out.
Michelle
Thanks to Daisy and Glenn for posting the URLs for both these great programs.
Michelle
I have never found a way to dump fonts to a file catalog, but have generated one the hard way, and for several computers....I create a text file and a standard text line:...AaBbCcDd..and etc:...then I edit-copy-paste till I have several lines in text....next step is to hi-lite a line, and go to font button and change to whatever font I want next in catalog....This can be repeated for several sizes if wanted, and you can proceed from one to the next fairly easily....When finished dump to printer and set up a file folder.
For those interested....I just found the link below for a history of letters....Looks like it might be fun reading....."http://www.rsub.com/typo/gallery/".....Doesn,t seem to be actual complete fonts, but has several links attached.....RAY
Rusty, I too had problems getting to Michael's web site, until I put the Slashes as back slashes. It went straight through, try that and see if it works. Read (http:\\members.xoom.com\mbgoldberg) Good luck. Gidget
Hi Helen, Don't know what online service you are using but to send an attachment you first have to have the photo or scanned image, whatever it is you wish to send, in a file. There is an attachment icon to the left of the message area on AOL -- should be somewhere in the area that tells you to send, etc. You choose to attach after writing your message, then a dialogue box should come up allowing you to find the file you are sending, choose it and elect to send it. You will then see a line that tells you what your are sending,Example would be: File: C:/picture.jpg. ...If that isn't correct, then you can just "detach" and look for the correct one. I would also suggest that you go to the Mail Center on your server and they should have instructions to guide you. AOL does. Also, you have to have the file in a format that can be sent and received successfully. That's a whole other area and if you haven't any experience with that, write me or put another post on the board and someone will be able to explain it to you or tell you where to find the information. Hope this helps. Eleanor
Lynn, I am starting with the blue banner that says Insurance on it. I change the banner color and then add a shape..rectangle and change that color to the same as the banner. Then I add a text box and type my text. It all looks fine but prints white blocks around my letters. I don't know why I can't get rid of the words Insurance, it seems to just be a part of the graphic. Yes, I do know how to change backgrounds and font colors. (Hope that doesn't sound agrivated, just answering) And I am stumped how to keep it all from printing like this! I am working now in a poster mode. Not banner mode. Thanks for any help.
